In Sri Lanka stray dogs live rough in the streets and are neither given any anthelmintic therapy nor any necessary vaccinations. They are completely abandoned, often maltreated and moreover attacked by all kinds of parasites. Stray dogs severely injured by accidents are a sad daily occurance.
All these dogs suffer from malnutrition and constantly have to look for food.
Uncontrolled reproduction and inbreeding provoke terminal diseases.
About 3 million stray dogs live in the streets of Sri Lanka. Our project aims at providing necessary medical treatment for them and at reducing the total number of stray dogs by castration.
